Giel Groothuis - Dutch Design in China

A co-development model for cross border creative industry business support. Giel Groothuis has a strong background in architecture and design. He has working and living in Shanghai since 2005 and worked on a large number of design projects in China. He is the founder of FAR Architecture and Design Center. This organisation aims to enrich China's design culture, trigger a process of cross-cultural discourse and stimulate design knowledge exchange. During the 2010 World Expo Mr. Groothuis worked for the Dutch Culture Centre and City of Rotterdam Pavilion. He currently is the director of the Dutch Design Workspace. This incubator for Dutch Design brands is funded by a unique combination of Dutch ministries, cities and commercial organisations.
